Deep Cleaning vs Regular Cleaning: Cost & What to Expect (Triangle NC)

Published June 26, 2026 · Joseph Lindsay

A regular clean maintains a home. A deep clean restores one. Here's the honest price gap between them in the Triangle — and how to pick without overpaying.

Joseph here. On my first visits, I'll usually walk a client through both options at the door instead of guessing on the phone. Here's the version of that conversation you can read before you book.

The cost gap, in real numbers

  • Regular / recurring clean (3-bed Raleigh home): ~$165
  • Deep clean (same home): ~$285–$340
  • Time on site: ~2 hrs (regular) vs ~4–5 hrs (deep)

A deep clean is roughly 1.5–2× the price of a regular one, and it's easily 2× the labor. The extra cost isn't a markup — it's what actually goes into it.

What only the deep clean covers

  • Baseboards, door frames and door tops hand-wiped.
  • Behind and under furniture we can move.
  • Inside oven and inside refrigerator on request.
  • Cabinet faces, light switches and handles individually cleaned.
  • Vent covers, ceiling fans, blind slats.
  • Grout, hard-water and soap-scum treated, not just wiped.

Which one do you actually need?

You need a deep clean if: nobody has cleaned professionally in the last 3–4 months, you're moving in or out, you're prepping to list, you just finished a renovation, or the house has been through allergy season.

A regular clean is enough if: the house has been on a recurring schedule within the last month, or you had a deep clean less than 90 days ago.

The play that saves the most money

Book the deep clean once, then start biweekly recurring right after. You pay the deep-clean premium a single time and then coast on the cheaper recurring rate for the rest of the year. Booking regular cleans on a house that really needs a deep one usually ends with a re-quote — and you paid twice.
